Got to the top, but….walking poles needed downhill.

Do you know the hardest part of the walk from St Jean Pied de Port to Roncesvalles for me was the downhill section for the last few kms.

It was great to do this stage in one day this time. In 2011, because Glenys still had many problems after her car accident (2008), we took 3 days.

But for the steep decline, which is a quick drop of altitude in a short distance, I had to concentrate so much.

I realised that I not only had to go slowly but also a bit less chatting to the others, because communication always needs more concentration for me to keep up with what is being said, and it’s meaning.

Buen Camino 🙂 🏃
